A Well Regulated Militia

Everyone should read the entire Second Amendment.
Following that, a proposed resolution of the gun ownership issue might be as follows:
A “well regulated Militia” would be established in every village, town, city, and county. Volunteers for each militia would be subject to stringent qualification for mental and physical fitness. You don’t want the village idiot or the town drunk providing for “the security of a free State…”
Those who are in the Active branch of the Militia would drill at least once a month.
Those who are in the Inactive branch would not regularly drill. Upon the Call to Duty, the Inactive Militia would muster and bring all their firearms and ammunition to the muster point, providing their armament for supplementary use by the Active Militia.
Those who are not in either form of Militia would not have the right to bear arms.

Nationalism and Populism and WW III

A prime cause of World War I was mindless nationalism, which continued after the War. Populism grew in the 1920s and, with nationalism, led to WW II.
Now the world is reverting to nationalism and populism, making WW III
a likelihood.
Unlike the previous wars, WW III will be fought with weaponized Electronics, Economics, and Energy. Domination, not destruction, of opponents will be the goals, because this will allow the winner to exploit those subjugated. Consider it an updated form of colonialism.
The way to combat this trend is with education and by example. Teaching the lessons of history – how nationalism and populism will lead to strife, poverty, and loss of freedom.  Working together, helping each other, we will create an exemplary world.
We must offer the world a better future – one that leads to peace, prosperity and freedom for all mankind.

Mattis for President

The book “Call Sign Chaos” by former Secretary of Defense James Mattis, implicitly notes the lack of direction and principle in our present Administration.
The book explicitly shows the leadership skills of retired General Mattis and his dedication to duty and to the Constitution.
America should well consider electing Mattis to be President, after he registers as a Republican, in 2020.
At the same time, the people should elect enough Democrats so as to have a majority in the House and the Senate.
The Democrats would pass idealistic laws and programs. It would then be up to President Mattis to administer those laws and programs with practical and intelligent efficiency, while vetoing those bills that are unreasonable.

Condemning Immoral and Unethical Actions of the Trump Administration

The Trump Administration has been maintaining children in detention centers under conditions that can only be described as unsafe, unsanitary and inhumane. No person with any sense of decency should tolerate this maltreatment of children.

In dealing with Saudi Arabia, Pres. Trump shrugs off the criminal behavior of the Saudi government because the Saudis are an important trading partner of the U.S.  In other words, our country will betray its national values for material gain.

Every religious body and civic organization must stand up and condemn the immoral and unethical actions of the Trump Administration, or admit that they have no decency or values of their own.

Rule by Decree - A Serious Precedent

If you think that Pres. Trump’s use of a Declaration of National Emergency is just fine, then you should realize that a very serious precedent has been set.
As of January 20, 2021, Pres. Elizabeth Warren, Pres. Kamala Harris, or Pres. Bernie Sanders will have the power to rule by decree.

Freedom is lost, one decree at a time.

Trump vs. The Constitution

Those who support and defend the Constitution have long known and proclaimed that Article I (One) of the Constitution requires that funding issues be determined by the Legislative Branch of our government. It is then incumbent upon the President to execute the will of Congress. It is unconstitutional for the President to change the programs or monetary allocations set in law without full congressional approval.
President Trump has chosen to arrogate unto himself the arbitrary power of the purse.
It is now up to all Americans to resist such unconstitutional action and demand respect for and obedience to the Constitution.
Every American must pledge and act to resist these dictatorial actions and refuse to do any work that furthers these actions.

Stopping WW III by Learning from History

The centenary observations of the ending of World War I gives us cause to study and learn from history.

A prime cause of WW I was mindless nationalism, which continued after the War. Populism grew in the 1920s and, with nationalism, led to World War II.
Now the world is reverting to nationalism and populism, making World War III
a likelihood.

Support and Defend the Constitution

Those who have previously served the United States in a civilian and/or military capacity should band together to “support and defend the Constitution” once again.

The organization would act to counter the efforts of anyone who tries to harm or undermine the Rule of Law and the moral foundations of our country.

As a first effort, this group should advocate that the successor to Secretary of Defense Mattis would continue the policies and programs of Mattis in their entirety. This would come in the sworn testimony of the nominee before the U.S. Senate.

At the same time, the Senate should pass a resolution honoring General Mattis for his service and demand that his policies and programs be continued.

Following that, the organization would formulate plans and guidance as to how to preserve the essential foundations of freedom for America.

Trump and the Government Shut Down

President Trump has shut down a good part of the government in an attempt to extort $5 billion from U.S. taxpayers to build an outdated, ineffective Border Wall.
Congress should pass a bill appropriating an initial outlay of $5 billion to plan on building a modern, high tech border fence system (an ‘E-Fence’).
This ‘fence’ would utilize motion detectors and other sensors, cameras, networked apprehension and other systems, backed by an enhanced Border Patrol. Such a system would stop human border crossers and drones.
The Coast Guard should also be built up to apprehend those coming up the Pacific Coast seaway and the Gulf of Mexico.
These methods may not have great symbolic value, but they would be more effective, and Americans value getting the job done over a showpiece.
