The Greater Military Threats

            In the Republican debates, Fox News panelists regularly brought up ISIS and Iran as threats to the United States.  The Republican candidates responded by threatening military and other actions. They would direct our defense capabilities against those who are our foes in the Middle East.

            The problem with this is that Fox and the GOP are directing our attention away from the greater national defense concerns.

            Marine Corps Commandant General Joseph Dunford, incoming Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, testified before Congress that the main threat to America is Russia, followed by China and North Korea.  These three states have both actual nuclear weapons and delivery systems.

            I would personally add Pakistan as a top concern because it has nuclear weapons that are not well secured.

            Fearmongering may reap high viewer ratings and garner votes in an election, but it does not serve this nation well.
